No photos in which children are identifiable can be generated as a post in PTA-specific communications. Photography featuring children must be shot from behind the student or at a wide-enough angle that children cannot be identified.
You may show photos of adults that are identifiable (volunteers, teachers, staff, etc). It is best practice to ask if it’s OK to take the photo and explain you plan on sharing it. You may also show details like cute teacher appreciation bags, etc.
No PTA channels can be used to promote a business or services unless the communication is about PTA fundraisers.
No PTA channels can be used to advocate for or endorse political candidates.
Hate or derogatory speech will not be permitted on the PTA Facebook page. Any such comments will result in the user being blocked from the page. PTA channels are also not places to air grievances about school administrators, other PTA members or elected officials.
Please remember if you are posting about PTA activity in your own social channels, you are representing the PTA. Please take care to not post about details that would be considered private to our community – for example, sharing security details about events that might be discussed in meetings. If you have a question about whether or not something is public, please don’t hesitate to ask a PTA officer or committee chair.
